1. Check Apple Messages Settings

On your device:

Settings → Messages → Audio Messages → Expire

Make sure this is set to: After 2 Minutes

If it is set to Never, messages may not automatically expire.

2. Check Textulater Settings

Inside the Textulater app:

Settings Icon → Disappearing Messages

Ensure this is set to: Recipient Setting

If set to None, automatic expiration will not be applied.
